Test Principle:

Free Chlorine in the sample as hypochlorous acid or hypochlorite ion immediately reacts with DPD (N,N-diethyl -p-phenylenediamine) indicator to form a pink color, which is proportional to the free chlorine concentration. 

Combined chlorine oxidizes iodide in the reagent to iodine. The iodine and free chlorine in the sample react with the DPD indicator to form a pink color, which is proportional to the total chlorine concentration.

Applied Range:

The colorimeter can be used to measure the concentration of free chlorine or total chlorine in all kinds of water disinfected by chlorination. TheLCD display the concentration of chlorine directly, the unit is mg/L.
